ProFractional FAQs
Q: How do I know if I am a candidate for laser treatments?
A: The best way to know for sure is through a complimentary skin consultation. During your visit, we’ll assess your skin type and specific concerns, such as pigmentation, texture, fine lines, or acne scarring to determine which laser is safest and most effective for you. Your first consultation is complimentary, please call the clinic to book with us!
Q: What results can I expect after a ProFractional treatment?
A: After the healing process is complete, expect your skin to appear tighter and smoother, with a greater reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and other skin imperfections like scarring.
Q: How many ProFractional treatments do I need?
A: Most patients see the best results after an initial series of 2 to 4 treatments, with additional semi-annual or annual visits. This routine will also vary depending on any other aesthetic treatments you may get and your overall skin goals and lifestyle.
Q: When will I see results after my ProFractional treatment?
A: You will see initial healing between 3-5 days after your ProFractional treatment, results are visible after 2 weeks but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see continual improvement for up to 6 months after their first treatment.
Q: What should I do for post-treatment care after a ProFractional Laser?
A: It is important to keep the skin moisturized with non-fragranced products for the first 3 days. 24 hours later, the skin may feel slightly swollen and/or itchy. This should resolve within 3 to 5 days. Patients can apply makeup after 24 hours but should avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen for 4 weeks post-treatment.
Q: How long should I wait before and after laser for other facial treatments?
A: You should not undergo other facials treatments 2 weeks before and after your laser treatment.
Q: What do I do if my redness is lasting longer than expected?
A: It’s normal to experience some redness and sensitivity for a few days to about a week after laser treatment, though everyone’s skin is different. It is important to ensure you are following the appropriate skincare regimen to increase healing. Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle moisturizer, continue applying SPF daily, and avoid direct sun exposure.
