Nanolaser Peel FAQs

Q: How do I know if I am a candidate for laser treatments?

A: The best way to know for sure is through a complimentary skin consultation. During your visit, we’ll assess your skin type and specific concerns, such as pigmentation, texture, fine lines, or acne scarring to determine which laser is safest and most effective for you. Your first consultation is complimentary, please call the clinic to book with us!

Q: What is a NanoLaserPeel?

A: A NanoLaserPeel is a quick and effective treatment that uses a special laser to address conditions on the top layer of your skin. The treatment removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture and provide a more youthful appearance. It provides superior results because it can be administered with great precision of depth.

Q: How does it work?

A: The laser beam is scanned over a treatment area to precisely ablate (vaporize) a very thin layer of skin, removing old, damaged tissue. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look such as superficial blemishes and pigment irregularities. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area.

Q: Which Areas of the Body Can I Treat with BBL?

A: While BBL could be used to treat almost any area of concern on the body, it is most commonly used to address areas like the face, neck, chest, and hands that receive the most sun exposure and are prone to pigmented lesions and other common signs of aging.

Q: What will happen after my treatment?

A: Immediately after the treatment you will notice that the skin has a “frosty” appearance. This is the dehydrated skin that will peel away within next few days following the treatment. You may experience some skin redness and a sensation resembling a sunburn, as well as mild swelling. You may be given skin care products and instructions on how to use. Your skin will be sensitive to UV light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully. It is recommended that you always use some level of sun protection to avoid sun damage and premature aging of your skin.

Q: When can I return to work/normal activities?

A: Depending on the depth of treatment, most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work the next day.

Q: When will I notice a difference?

A: Because only the outer layer of skin is treated, most patients notice an obvious improvement in tone, texture and color evenness once the skin heals in approximately 3-4 days.

Q: Post NanoLaser Peel Expectations?

A: After treatment, moderate redness, swelling and/or a sunburn sensation is usual for up to 12 hours or more. Swelling is usually short-lived. 24-48 hours after treatment, peeling and flaking usually occurs for up to several days or more; depending on laser peel depth or treatment parameters. Expect mild to moderate improvement in photo-aging like wrinkles, age spots, discolorations, skin tone, quality, texture, acne scars, and other scars.

Q: How long should I wait before and after laser for other facial treatments?

A: You should not undergo other facials treatments 2 weeks before and after your laser treatment.

Q: What do I do if my redness is lasting longer than expected?

A: It’s normal to experience some redness and sensitivity for a few days to about a week after laser treatment, though everyone’s skin is different. It is important to ensure you are following the appropriate skincare regimen to increase healing. Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle moisturizer, continue applying SPF daily, and avoid direct sun exposure.
